"I think I'm in a love-hate relationship… with my phone."
That realization last summer sparked something big. I put my phone down, picked up a pencil, and began to write — for real.
I’m excited to share the public release of Life We Lead — an original song and thought-provoking music video about our complicated relationship with technology, and how beautiful life can be when we look up from the screens.
Backstory
Last summer, I stepped away from social media for three months. Without the constant noise, my mind felt clearer and more creative than ever — though I quickly realized I was also missing important news and events. The experience taught me that quitting cold turkey isn’t realistic, but mindful engagement is powerful. That’s the message I wanted this project to carry.
Production Process
I wrote and produced the song, collaborating with Brian Stiroh on an electronic arrangement for the verses and chorus. Later, I composed and produced an outro piece that shifts from electronic to acoustic — a sonic metaphor for technology “stripping away” until only natural sounds remain.
This idea then grew into a production concept that bridges the worlds of music video, narrative film, and public service announcement. I teamed up with Christopher Ortiz as producer, and together we led a four-month production to bring that vision to life.

July 2025 was a month of learning, foundation-building, and giving back. A few highlights:
TCNJ Creative Tech Camp
I had the privilege of returning as Head Counselor, helping lead Music Tech instruction, and creating an immersive studio experience for high school students to record, compose, and mix their own music. It was also a joy to work with and learn from Dr. Quinn Collins. I served as Residence Director and helped foster community throughout the week—it was an incredibly rewarding time.
Networking & Growth
This month, I connected with fellow TCNJ alumni, creatives, and industry professionals. I’m always grateful to learn from others’ journeys and share my own. If you're looking to collaborate—or need help on a production—don’t hesitate to reach out!
Music Release: Life We Lead
